Interim Zoning Ordinance In Effect and Exception Information

Interim Zoning in Effect in the Town of St. Joseph

The Town is currently under an Interim Zoning Ordinance until the County Board approves the new Town Zoning Ordinance.  Interim Zoning freezes all existing uses in the Town.     Please contact the Zoning Administrator with questions: 715-781-0643 or zoning@townofstjoseph.com

  • For an exception to the Interim Zoning Ordinance, a Town of St. Joseph property owner must apply for an Interim Zoning Exception.

Exception Process:

  • A Town of St. Joseph  Interim Zoning Ordinance Exception Application must be completed
  • Submit the completed application and the required $450 application fee to the Clerk's Office
  • Applications are due the second to last Wednesday of the month.
  • Staff reviews the application and provides a report.
  • Application review and recommendation by the Town Plan Commission (meetings are held the 1st Wednesday of the month)
  • Application review and action by the Town Board (regular meetings are held the 2nd Thursday of the month)

If an Interim Zoning Exception is approved, then the applicant may submit a building permit application to All Croix Inspections or apply for a driveway permit from the Zoning Administrator.
